I finally found something, but

I've been applying to multiple jobs for 2 months now! I finally land an interview to be a dishwasher at Marriott hotel. They scheduled me for tomorrow 10am. I got so excited about this, that I watched a bunch of dishwasher training videos, I also practiced what to say at the interview.

Then my Dad calls and tells me that he doesn't want me to work there because that job is for uneducated people. This crushed my spirit, he shows no remorse. It's like he had forgotten that he was the one that got me fired from my last job.

To have all that excitement inside of me, just to be shot down like that. It puts me at an all time low, I don't know what to do now my time almost up... All I know is I'm not gonna give up.

Julius, You profile doesn't say but do you have a masters or doctorate degree in a specialized field you're qualified to work in? I get your father but if your a young person entering the workforce with little to no experience then all you need is a job that will help you build discipline, good wok habits, and skills you can use later on to land and build a career.

Hi Julius. It must be crushing not to get the support you need from your family when you're truly excited about something in life. I'm so sorry that your father couldn't try to be more excited for you, however I would encourage you token pursuing jobs that excite you! You are the one who has to pay the bills and go to work every day, make sure you choose a job that allows you to cover your expenses and enjoy your time there. I wish you all the best, Julius! Keep your chin up!
