Appreciation Gift

I’m thinking of including a $5 Dunkin Donuts gift card along with my interview “Thank You” letter but I’m not sure if that’s appropriate. Would that be too weird??

My 2 cents? I'm with Mariah. I think its a very nice thought, but inappropriate in this setting. BUT, if you have anyone who helped you get that interview or helped you prep for it - then by all means shoot them the thank you gift card! Hope this helps. Now i am going to go get myself a Dunkin' - got me thinking' bout it! Fred

If the topic of coffee happens to come up in the interview, I think it would be appropriate as a reference to the interview. That said, depending upon what comes up (in the idle chit chat) during the interview, play this one loose. Maybe it''s something different. Go with the flow and set yourself apart in a positive way. Otherwise, a simple hand-written thank you note is quite tasteful.

I think its a sweet idea, however, depending on what kind of a job your interviewing for it could go either way! Use your best judgement! Good luck!

I agree with Mariah, but I would add that you don't want anyone to think you are trying to bribe them. Hand-write a thank you card, that will be very thoughtful and will already make you stand out in a great way!

Hi James: My instinct tells me don't do it. I think it reads as a bit desperate. The thank you letter should be enough!
