DON"T GIVE UP!!!
Like many of you I had been in a job for about 6 yrs. when out of nowhere they let me go back in March.I'm 58 yrs.old with not much experience at anything. I am also paralyzed on the left side of my face due to a tumor surgery I had a few yrs. ago.I applied for countless jobs with no luck. If I got an interview after seeing me I never heard back from them thinking it was either my age or my face that was holding me back from the jobs. I was almost done with my unemployment when I saw an ad for a server/dietary aide in a new retirement complex in my area. The ad said no experience needed when I applied so I decided to give it a try. They called me the next day for an interview & I was hired on the spot pending drug tests & a physical ! I have now worked there for about 3 weeks & learning the job has been tough at times but so worth it. I enjoy the residents & have already made new friends. I guess I'm saying don't give up & don't be afraid to try for a different job than you're used to working. You might be pleasantly surprised going in a new direction.

Wow Joyce first that's my mom's name and that is very encouraging I am a 49 year old and I've been on my job for 8 years and just about have had enough I'm on the site looking for new employment and was just about to give up and say maybe I should stay where I'm at until I read your encouraging story thank you so much for those words because it gives a person like me hope and I wish you all the best on your new job and hope that it brings you nothing but happiness and peace9
