I lost my job due to the virus and it has been such a challenge to find work, I am open to new things , but i am getting turned down left and right thinking it because I am competeing because of my age, really super stressed out atm the moment . I have applied to so many places and i just keep getting turned down how discouraged I am , knowing that I am up to date with technology have my own office to work out of and cant get nothing.. Absolutly frustrated..

I worked in the same office for over 25 years before working at home for 2 years. Although I enjoyed the in office, enjoyed being with the people there and learned more than I could ever explain to anyone, the at home work fortunately came at a time when I needed to be at home due to a family illness. I could now be available for my family member at any time and still perform my work efficiently and effectively. Now at my age, I think I would prefer at home work but if I was just starting out again I would want it to be in an office--you learn way too much to pass this by and it is a great time to form lasting friendships.

I have a few suggestions if you’re interested

Just a few openings in jobs I’ve seen recently, not sure where you’re located but: Fed Ex, Amazon, Lowe’s, Home Depot’s are hiring around my area and multiple areas. It’s something to try. Stay positive:) Don’t give up. Best to you!

@LeninPina Thank you for the reply, I am looking to do something different in a different deographic other than Automotive , I have a open mind and in the last 10 years I have not had to look for a job and of course time has changed as well, I am not looking to stay in the same industry where I was at, I just want a normal data entry job or something , i am not looking for the title Job , I just want to be on the other side now and just hopefully find a square to sit in and just upload files or something like that customer service , I just dont want to be the It guy that everyone has to go to..

Hi Bey Lon Lau , are you being turned down after your online application submission or a after the interview? Keep in mind that one is automated (Keyword mis-match) and the other is a bit more personal.
Your resume shows you're a seasoned Digital Marketing professional who's probably seeking an upper level, Management or leadership position. Those type of job roles are the one's being most affected by the virus outbreak furloughs so you can expect competition for these job to be super fierce right now.
Are you exploring other career alternative outside of Digital Marketing? Use and/or develop a Networking strategy to help promote yourself beyond the online application pool. A lot of the new jobs being created right now are too entry level for your experience. Keep at it! Work for and expect better results but remain mindful and prepare yourself for what may be a lengthy job search. Stay Encouraged!
