Hopes high too crash
I interviewed. Background check. And then my hope were diminished. Didnt get the job... credit. Credit. Creditttrt. Arggghhh. Now can i start over without 30000 paycut Killing me...

Even though no job will admit it, if you aren't applying to McDonalds, you will not get a high paying job without a great credit score and high G.P.A. from an esteemed college

Sorry about that Lisa, some jobs do credit checks, especially banks. I like these conversations, however, hopefully, I am going back to teach school. I have been a teacher for 15 years and I left because of illness. However, I can go back and I am ready. Best of Luck to you and I will be praying for you.

Check into fixing your credit....it is more important than we think !!!!

Maybe the key is to stop going for the job that looks at one's credit. I feel that's way too personal for me, and a job has no right to want that information. The reality is you are not buying ie leasing something from them, just seeking an equal exchange. Work for pay, and all else is Non of their Business.

Don't give up hun...bad stuff don't last forever..

Yes I can understand your frustration. Companies do need to know how trustworthy you are and quite possibly want their employees to grow and develop into home owners, small business owners, etc. Don't look at as bad. Credit is very important. Make sure you get a copy of your credit report and contact a credit repair company I recommend Lexington law firm. Keep your head up. Resolve your credit issues and don't give up! Good luck

You will get that offer you're looking for

Credit scores are an inaccurate measure of fiscal responsibility. They do not take into account the mergers and reorganizations that lead to company layoffs. Neither do these scores account for life events such as serious illness or divorce. New York passed a statute forbidding prospective employers from requiring candidates to give the employer passwords to their social media profiles, and I have heard the news outlets speak about whether, other than financial institutions, it is an invasion of privacy or even relevant to require candidates to submit to a credit check. I personally do not believe a credit score is a complete indicator of an individual’s financial health and willingness to pay accrued debt, particularly since the way credit is marketed is not in alignment with the reality that more than 85% of the population will be significantly compromised by at least two economic downturns in their lifetime.

Was it an actual credit report or was it a more general background check? These days, even traffic citations, if unreported, can be causes for not hiring someone. Were you honest at the outset about your credit score?
