Is it illegal for your boss to tell you youre not allowed to wear religious attire (abaya/dress) because they want you to wear their uniform?

This is a little different scenario..but I have worked in the past with a uniform policy [Casual Atmosphere] and had co-workers who were able to wear their headscarves but had to wear the "polo" over their dress or with a floor length skirt.

If its professional dress..as long as its made of a non casual material and in an acceptable color via the dress code.. I don't understand why that would be an issue.

It should be illegal; however if you knew before you took the job you would have an uniform. Then I would speak to the manager and refer to the company handbook.
