Customer Service / General Accounting / Administrative Assistant

Working after a sabbatical

My husband and I moved to an extremely rural area when he got promoted and an area that was farm land and a truck stop. One year turned into four and while my career has been in business administration and general accounting I’m having an extremely hard time angling myself as an attractive candidate with this much time out of my field. In addition, some of my references are no longer with their perspective companies. Any advice?

If you know where your references have gone, you'd only need to change their places of employment on your resume. They can still be valuable references to you.

Retired college instructor looking for part time work

My sister in law had a similar experience. She took some online courses to update her CPA license then got a job working for a firm in her area. The woman who hired her attended her church. Like Ashley says, network with people in your area and brush up your skills if you need to. I wish you the best!

If you can volunteer somewhere for a few months that would be great yeah, but I think as far as the references go if you are friendly with any of them on Facebook asking if they would still be willing to give you a reference.

Recently lost my job and most of myself as I haven't felt like myself for a few months now and I'm looking to relocate to a better area that's thriving ; however I'm back stuck at my mothers house with no vehicle... it's really hard to get back going.. Any advice on how I could get a job in a different state without having a vehicle and much money?

Retired from private practice of 37 years

Similarly when i retired i was looking for "something" Thats harder than one might think. Rewarding, sense of worth, accomolisment, financially worth it, on and on. After the usual introductions around town and a couple social meet and greets it became, no it came on me like a huge dark cloud, theres nothing absolutely nothing out there. Im not sure what or how this next cycle came but it was almost instainious, like when the sun comes out following the storm. I started reading, utubing, searching for honey bees. I became obsessed. Did you know that without honey bees we as humans would have a slim chance of continuing our own existence? I raise honey bees, sell honey, and federal, state and private funding is available. They all are aware of the importance of honey bees. Hagan das, is a major contributor. I found my passion in the country.and you are right there at the crossroads. Dont give up five minutes before the miracle. Heres sone more information for you, and good luck to you. https://bit.ly/2NF4T3H Randy
