I've worked for Amazon doin deliveries for awhile but been thinking of driving for Uber to make some extra cash. I heard good things and that you can make bank. I could really use it for my daughter. Anyone here drive for Uber?

I do LYFT in my down time for extra money; on average make 20$ an hour but keep in mind to set aside money for taxes because you are an entrepreneur and taxes aren’t taken out! Also, the comments about people and bed bugs and what not; true they could have anything getting in your car! But you could get the same sitting on public transportation or a restaurant! I’ve had no problems. One person with bad BO once; you rate that passenger with a 3 or lower and never get them again, pretty much guaranteed! I’m 56 years old and deal with people from Camden NJ and Philadelphia and not had a problem! Just be smart and if you find yourself in a bad neighborhood at night set the app as your last ride and drive out so you aren’t stuck in an uncomfortable area you don’t want to be in! If you have any other questions feel free to contact me!

I've done the uber thing. First off you have to have a vehicle that is within certain years. I believe it's no less than 7 years old. Second they will inspect your vehicle including glass for chips cracks dents and tire thickness. If any issues you have to fix them before they will consider you and your vehicle. Third they do a background check so if you have anything you won't be able to drive for them. Lastly yes you are rated by your passengers but you also get to rate them. Your pay from what I know is not affected by their ratings. When I drove for them tipping was not part of the app but now it is so there is that benefit. You get paid as a contractor so taxes are not taken out of what you get paid. I drove for them for 3 or 4 months and earned a little money from it but not enough to live off of. You end up putting most of it back into your gas tank. I guess it would be ok for a side job but to me it was not worth the wear and tear and so many extra miles you put on on your car.

Found employment

Tbh i heard that when you drive for uber you are being rated/graded on by the client/passenger you transport now keep this in mind if they feel you talk too much or very lil or have no access to radio or cell charger they can give you a bad rate and it ll affect your resume in the eyes of other potential drivers so be aware. You cam rate them back but i would think lyft is similar. Now if you dont mind the wear and tear on your tires and gas then theres that other option. As for banking well you have dedicate a lot of hours to bank im talking mornings and nights etc. The more time you put in the better. Now if theres a discretion on a complaint or any incidents they the company can suspend your paycheck till the investigation is cleared. I knew somone who was accused of assault( long story) but anyways safety is another concern i think they allow conceal license carriers to pack but i would be wary of the passengers i take on. You have option to decline some if u want. But never take on a client if you're cutting it close with previous client or it ll cost you again the reviews. They should ask for your title and car model and year and driving record before employment. I believe its direct deposit and u ll have an sticker issued to place on your vehicle. Hope this helps

I would not recommend it. All these companies pray on the needy while stock prices sore.
