First thing you should know Matthew is, how to cook. Multitasking is always a plus because if you are hired as a cook, believe me, you will be doing more than just cooking. It's always good to know your way around a kitchen. That's just a gift that good cooks have. Ask questions about that particular business. I wish you luck with an opportunity to show off your cooking skills.

Through the years of experience working as a cook, I've learned one thing definitely, there is always something do. When interviewing for a cooking position is having a Food safe certificate to present, that will make you stand out and could raise your pay. The certificate is easy to obtain through online or in person course, same day graduate. If your a multitasking individual, cooking will be up your alley. The cooking career isn't just cooking, it details;setup, portioning, weighing, slicing, dicing, cleaning, dating, rotating, cleaning, planning, stocking, cleaning, preparing, monitoring, cleaning, breakdown and etc..I mentioned cleaning many times, it's a key thing, both hand washing and housekeeping .The fun begins when you get to make Beautiful; delicious dishes, people eat with there eyes and I do... It's a Great career to pursue, skies the limit, people have to eat.I have a goal to someday to own and operate a little cafe tucked away in the woods . I wish you luck in your cooking career..

Read the menu and be able prepare all the meals. Present the meal so that its pleasing to the eye. You should have a thick skin as some customers are never satisfied. Remember that most of us appreciate your hard work.
