Been looking for a part time job in Lawton, Ok since last September. I have had only one interview, that gave me all information a person would get if they were going to be hired. She said she'd call me the next morning. Never happened. I followed up to see if I missed the call, and she said she filled the job. She told me she had no other applicants she was considering, and none that had my experience. Big let down. I hold a BAS in Healthcare Administration since 2014 with a 3.3 GPA. I can't even get a job part time as file clerk. Yes, I am over 62, I've even had a stroke last March '18 that almost killed me, and I do have a disability but it doesn't stop me from answering phones, using a computer, or doing what I went to college for. I'm raising my 2 grandkids, I have bills to pay, clothes and food to buy that My disability check barely covers. Christmas is coming and I'd like to have a few things under the tree for them. That's why I'm looking for work. I've tried Walmart where I worked 5 yrs, Staples, KFC, Murphy's gas station, and actually got turned down at McDonald's cuz I was too over qualified. I've been praying every day for something positive to happen. It's been over a year now. Getting rather depressed.
