Can they do that?
So last week I was told that I was hired with H&R Block. I went in last Friday and trained for a 6 hour shift. I was not put on the schedule for the following week because I was told the schedule was already made. I contacted the manager of that office today just to follow up and she at that point stated to me that I needed to speak with someone else because apparently I technically was not hired and will not be placed on the schedule. I am frustrated and upset because number one I am receiving unemployment and that one day that I worked could possibly drastically affect my unemployment which is what I am solely dependent on right now for financial support, number two I could have spent that time looking for a more permanent job instead of waiting to see if I would be working next week. Is this legal does anyone know what I should do?

Write a comment...anytime u do something for any company, ie training, etc. by law they have to pay you. They owe u for 6 hrs. of work.

Did they highered you in writing?

There were an error

Look at it as a blessing ..you have another destiny waiting for you.

Sweetie You Need To Report Them To The BUB & To The AACP. And To Your Labor Board.

I would, it is part of my legal plan and can be part of yours for a small monthly fee of $24.95, plus you can sign on as an associate and never have to worry about this situation again. Work for yourself where your income is up to you and no, I repeat no bosses ever!

That one day won't mess up ur unemployment, but I wouldn't even waste time worrying about what to do about H&R block.. Just keep it moving. That happened to me with forman mills and trust me it's nothing u can do..Just keep praying to God to help u find a good job and u will.....KEEP UR HEAD UP!!

At least your getting unemployment; I was denied. Really?

They basically give you left over clients, they're jurks to work for.
That is unbelievable! How about calling the Better Business Bureau.
