I was working for a Temp agency doing a job that I really liked. I was doing extremely well, and caught on quickly. I worked for 4 weeks and had to go to the ER for kidney stones, I missed the 1 day but went back the next day. I worked 4 1/2 hrs the next day and I was doubled over in pain and crying..but still working..when the Supervisor came up and told me that I really needed to go home, that there was no way I could stay and work in that much pain. I left and went straight to the ER again. I recieved a call the very next morning and was fired for missing 2 days! I have tried to talk to the HR manager, the plant manager, they won't respond. This has left me heartbroken..just seems so wrong. Both the Temp agency and the client was contacted about me being sent home by the Supervisor. The Temp agency did not try to stand up for me at all..nor find me another assignment.
Unfortunately, it's about numbers. No offense, but temps are a dime a dozen in the eyes if the temp agency. Because the agency would not stand be hind you, I would find another agency.
Find a good lawyer. Usually consultations are free and see if you have a case. If you work in an employment at will state an employer can terminate you for any reason because employees may quit without notice. Temp agencies dont work for us. They work for the corporations and we are just expendable money makers for BOTH companies. Ive worked for a few, have yet to find one that does anything other than take money out of my hourly pay.
So sad to hear that, I actually went through a similar situation that happen to me with a temp agency a while back and it seems like it's getting worst now that I'm hearing your situation...
The temp agencies no longer care for the staff they provide only the accounts they hold.

Thank god I have never had employment through Temp. agencies. I feel they are not very honest. The times I was contacted by their offices and refused to work with them, I had applied to job ads that seemed to be with private companies that mentioned company names that did not exist. I would find out when they would call me it was a Temp. agency. Why would they not just state their agency name? They do things under handed and for this reason I do not trust them and never recommend obtaining employment with these agencies. What else would they lie about? They are very deceiving.
Temps grow on trees, man. There is literally hundreds more where you came from, unfortunately.
Never go through a temp agency.
