Jobs are Boomin' but No Workers
All indications show advanced manufacturing jobs are on the rise in the US but employers can’t find enough interested and qualified applicants to fill the job openings. Yeah, we all get excited and cheer whenever Trump say’s he’s bringing manufacturing jobs back to the US but what good is that NOBODY’S interested in those type of jobs. Why do other developed countries like Germany have more success recruiting and maintaining a “New Collar” manufacturing workforce?

Construction and manufacturing careers don’t carry the same negative stigma in those countries like they do here. Those societies sponsor mentorships and easy access to affordable or free training programs intended to motivate and encourage young people to pursue those jobs. The perception here is to push students who can’t cut it or can’t afford the traditional college first career track into blue collar jobs that don’t require any skills.

Interesting post - thank you for sharing, Marcos!
Who say’s nobody wants these jobs? We have hundreds of thousands of skilled workers who’ve lost their jobs to outsourcing and downsizing over the years that are craving a good paying manufacturing job.
