Why have I quit a job?
Usually because it’s monotonous and there is never any appreciation for the hard work, unpaid overtime, holidays, and the sacrifices one makes to contribute for the greater good of the company. It’s a wonderful feeling to be told you’re doing a good job, if not what do you really mean to them? Performance bonuses also change an employee’s perspective as well, if they don’t step up someone who knows your true value will. Life is too short to not gain more knowledge, more experience, and a better way of life.

I have only quit, when I have given 2 weeks notice, and when I have a higher paying job that starts the day after I were to quit the job I was currently at. Theres no way, I'm just going to quit a job, because I don't like it. Otherwise, you could end up quitting, with no plans for the immediate future. Then your Bill's grow, and you can't afford the things you want, and when it gets worse, you're just screwed.
My wife's sister did that a few times. In the past 4 years, she's had to leave San Jose entirely. Then she moved to the east bay, and has been kicked out of 3 seperate places, for not being able to pay rent.
The first job she had when I met my wife, she left, because "she wasn't happy." Then she was out of work for over a year. And rarely looked for a job. She actually tried to move in with my family, but I told her and her kids, they would be following rules, and she would still have to pay rent to live here. That made her get a job, and want to leave.
I would just suggest to never quit a job, unless you are already have another job. Otherwise you could end up expected other to support you, (and they likely won't) or worse, you could end up homeless.

I want to quit my job of all most 7 yrs. It took me 6 yrs to get s raise. Then my boss fused and curses at me when things r not my fault at all. The only good thing about the job is im off on weekends!

I've quit jobs because I'm going back to school, because of doing two part time jobs and the schedules conflicting, twice because it was just time, I had been there too long.

I agree. What’s wrong with people today? I am a CNA/DSP/RMA and I work my butt off and go above and beyond to do everything I can to make everyone happy. But Ive always put my people first. But do I get any kind of respect or get told thanks or anything? No.... SMh..

These lead have gone Nowhere a waist of my time .

I quit my own not having a job lined up in advance because of some of those reasons. My self worth plummeted to nothing. My boss was picking on everything I did and I felt like I wasn't doing anything right. My work load was getting heavier by the minute yet the company would not hire people. After suffering panic attacks and serious anxiety I did decided to leave. I gave two weeks notice so I could collect my vacation pay and not burn a bridge. Mental health is a serious issue in this country and not addressed at all. Waiting until I found something else was not an option. Funny enough I don't need my anxiety meds anymore. Still looking for a job but at.least my life is on my terms now. You have to do what is best for yourself.

Philip Pierce, times have changed in the work force. One thing I will say is not all companies show appreciation for there employees. With this said something to keep in mind is this appreciation comes from within ones heart. Knowing your honest and do your job is the best reward. Keep the faith!

Hi Phillip,
My reasons for quitting previous jobs. Before I quit the golden rule is to have another job lined up. As bad as things have gotten, I hang in there until I find another job and then I give them notice. As a result of employment at will, if the place is horrid, I would give no advance notice. My health comes first.
- Bad work environment
- Horrible bosses
- No room for advancement
- Changed my work hours
- Horrible benefits
- Dangerous location
I love to work. I want to be challenged, feel that what I am doing is making a difference and I want to be appreciated. I want to be respected and am constantly looking for ways to be a positive role model and help the company achieve their goal as best as I can. If I don't know how to do something, I speak up. If I see someone needs help, I step in.

Hi Philip
I agree if you are not being well compensated and they do not value you its the right thing to find a job. What i can say next time find another position before quiting then it will be easier for you. Beacuae u dont know how many days of weeks u will be without a job we have to think those thibgs. I was in that struggle too that happwn to me a few months back and i did not get a job within two months Good Luxk on yr next job
A lot of people share your feelings that's why we have business opportunities like Amway, Avon, etc. what you should do when you don't like a thing is to change it. The end result of your life here on earth will always be the sum total of the choices you make while you are here
