Looking for a job
How hard is it for a veteran to find a job that can work around my spouses schedule? He works at a prison so his weeks alternate and I am have a very difficult time with this. Any ideas or solutions? email me please bryant.carmela4@gmail.com
Hi Carmela, I wanted to share this resource with you that allows you to fill out your information in what they call a "Veteran Talent Exchange." Doing this will allow you to get connected to military-friendly employers who may be looking for new employees just like you. It is a great way to network. All of your contact information, military experience and career preferences will be visible to the participating employers and make it easier for them to contact you! If you are looking for a job that would be a little more flexible with your schedule, I would recommend looking into positions at retail stores, restaurants, and maybe even hotels. Hi Carmela, If you're very upfront about your scheduling needs, then you should be able to find something that works with your schedule. And if you have any flexibility with your husband's schedule (maybe you can work 2 days/week when he's off?), then that might be easier for an employer. Let us know how your search is going, ok?
