Teacher at Growing Together Learning Center Iii

Laboratory technician

I just finished my master degree in biology and I am having a hard time to find a job. I have no experience normally bc just finished the school and to create that experience needed to be hired by someone. It is not fair for us to not be considered at all from the employers like we are unable to do or learn the job and this make no sense at all because if we were able to go further with our education, studying hard with great results, we can learn everything. So the next step build up my experience and work as a volunteer but where, how can even find a position as a volunteer????

Hi Ornela: I completely understand your situation! If you worked with professors on any outside projects, work study, internships over the course that you have been in school you can count as experience. I also, would suggest to go to the career service in your previous school for any partnerships they may have hospitals. Apply to temp agencies that specialize in the healthcare or science field. You also apply for contract positions in hospital and volunteer/ intern at a hospital. Research some hospitals in your area and find the head the department your interested in, email them with explaining your interest in the field and ask for informational interview. You can even as to shadow them so you can gain the experience you need.
