Donna Evans: Just list your month and day only on resume and only list last 10 years experience. For college experience do the same on dates. Use plexiderm on your face, will make you look 10 years younger. My friend did that in order to get hired. Or just work part time, that will increase you getting hired, volunteer at a place in order to get experience or work at restaurants, convenience stores, clean houses, etc, until a better job comes along. Work night shit, alot of employees can not do that, so that would be good for you. Also TEMPORARY job agencies are good ones to work at. Don't give up, God is on your side, remember that always.

You're absolutely right about age discrimination, I've been applying for positions and once I provide my year of birth, I don't hear back from anyone. Sad but true.

I am 74 and will turn 75 in Feb. I really believe there is much age discrimination in many places. They won't say, but its evident.

Ageism is alive and well, a couple of things they recommend as far as a resume: don’t put any employment that is older than 10 years, don’t include formal education with dates. Remove any skills that are no longer currently used. All of that ages you. My father went from being self employed to back into the work force. He had lost most of his hair by 55, and wore a hair piece. Upon advice of his friends he lost the hairpiece and after that he found more opportunities. We live in a visual world update your wardrobe if you can, update your hairstyle, learn a new relevant skill, remote work is bigger than ever. A lot of companies are in need of customer service people who work from home. Last but not least your a product sell yourself, your age is a benefit not a negative - think if ten things that you do that people under 30 have not learned. Your life experience is important. Use it, I by no means diminish the issue, as someone who works in the tech industry I am about to turn 51 and it’s getting harder and harder to stay relevant.

I’ll be 61 in April. I got a job in October and although it’s tough work, I love helping the elderly. I work at an assisted living facility, and I work primarily with the memory care residents. The bonds I have made and the difference I feel that I’m making in their lives, is super rewarding. If you have a heart for caring for others, it’s a good job to have. Good luck to you. Don’t give up!

I am 60 and my best life is NOW. No one wants to hire me as well, but I know this is GOD shifting my life. Go deeper into God...read proverbs and walk in your new life.
