I worked for a school system for 23 years. I was fired at the age of 63. They said that I was forgetful but could not back it up with documentation of any incidents. I had just finished my Master's Degree, (in Nursing no less),was the school nurse. I think that they just didn't want to increase the pay for the degree. Broke my heart. I haven't tried to find another job because I am afraid of the age issue and discrimination. That is against the law you know. I am going to try to find a job at the grocery store, maybe the pharmacy could use a good nurse who still has her shit together, regardless...... And to think that schools are suppose to teach anti-bullying. I only had two more years until retirement. We had a change in administration and the new Ass. Supp. (that wasn't a typo), who was formerly a teacher and I did not get along, we tolerated each other. I have too much to offer than to sit at home. Don't let anyone destroy you!! I am trying very hard to keep my confidence. What hurt the most was being hurt by the people that I knew and worked with for so long. God Bless!

most employers want "gig" workers, so that they don't have to pay benefits; or younger workers where insurance premiums are lower. It's the Affordable Care Act, where discrimination for age is allowed. I have no preexisting conditions, and I am healthy and active, but my health care premiums are outrageous! More than my mortgage payment!

I know Walmart always hires and so does Target and Costco's. Also if anybody can drive instacart is always looking for drivers. If nobody knows what instacart is all you have to do is shop for people's groceries and deliver it to them. I'm just throwing ideas out there.

At least they get to see you, they say age does not matter. They all want to know what year you graduated, they are not telling the truth
