Go and enroll at the NCWorks Career Center - Northern Regional Center. This is an affiliate Center of the Raleigh comprehensive center. Your local center is located at: 350 E. Holding Avenue, Wake Forest, NC 27587. Their phone is: 919-Five Six Two-6363. Their hours of operation are: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8:30am to 5:15pm. Their URL is: https://capitalareancworks.com/ncworks-career-center-northern-regional-center-2/.

Of course, there's a comprehensive center, which provides more services, 12.5 miles from Wake Forest. That's the NCWorks Career Center - Raleigh at Tillery Place, located at 1830-B Tillery Place, Raleigh, NC 27604. Their phone is: 919-seven one five-0111. Their hours of operation are: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm; Thursdays from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm (with limited services after 5 pm), and Fridays from 8:30 to 2 pm. Their URL is: https://capitalareancworks.com/services/.

Granted, these centers are not staffing agencies, but if they operate like those in San Diego, they should host ocassional hiring events and offer resume writing, job search, and interview skills workshops.

There are tons of jobs in your market. I would go to Jobs & Companies at the top of the page, and type in your desired position and location. You'll see a ton pop up.

I also want to wish you luck in pursuing legal action against your former employer. Just some advice though. Even when someone gets the shaft at work, it is unlikely that you were treated illegally. The law does not require employers to treat their employees like family or to be nice or even "fair". Bosses can be downright jerks to anyone and everyone. They can play favorites as long as they're not making distinctions based on protected categories like race or sex. Now if you have proof that your former supervisor was racist and want to pursue for discrimination. Know that...

Litigation is long, drawn out, stressful and painful. Hopefully you'll go to mediation and end it at that. Also know that the distractio and stress of the lawsuit will make it difficult for you to do well in your new job.

You may find out that your co-workers are not on your side - you feel very strongly that your employer did you wrong. You sue, start taking depositions of all of your co-workers who were your friends. Turns out they weren't your friends after all. They can testify all of the bad things you've said which can be embarrassing and will not help your case. It's not that they're bad people, it's that many people are afraid of retaliation by the company.

Also some companies really believe that they were in the right, but in their eyes, the boss is a decent/fair person who treat their employees right. Number 2 - finding out your co-workers don't support you is one of the "painful parts"

You may be opening your own life to scrutiny - This is another painful part. In order to get more money and because you were fired, your lawyer can claim for emotional distress in your lawsuit. Next thing you know, your former company will ask for your medical records dating back 10 yrs. You will have to share your entire medical history if you file emotional distress.

I had a good friend go through the same experience and I went through it with her. It was devastating and she now has a hard time finding a job because its on her background/history that she took her former employer to court. Companies don't like seeing that.

So good luck to you.
