Hi Gregory: Cool, you're in a great spot for your industry. There are a lot of small studios near NYC that work on visual effects for commercials and movies. Check out ShadeFX, carbon vfx, FuseFX, and other studios. They usually hire on a contract basis, so it'd fit what you're looking for.
