Question
I gotta question I had a job interview at red lobster like last week for the host position the interview went great but she said she had other people applying for the position but she will call me back the Sunday that just passed for my second interview but she never called so should I call her? or did she just hire somebody else.. ? I'm confused and don't know what to do

I would call her back and ask if she hired someone else. She may have gotten a lot more applications after she told you that

Call her because it's always good to keep following up. It shows that your putting effort into seeking the job

First, as a Restaurant Manager I was always very polite and upbeat with interviewees and did not reveal that, at times, I had decided they were not hirable when they walked in the door or after the first few minutes of speaking with them. So, you may have thought the interview 'went great' when the person interviewing you may have only been polite. I also think the person interviewing you may have said that IF they were considering you, they would be calling you back on Sunday. During interviews, we often hear what we want to hear and don't pick up on such subtle cues. She didn't call you on Sunday either because she had no intention of doing so in the first place or she found more attractive candidates for the job. But let me tell you this - and please don't be insulted! Learn from it and move on: I suggest speaking to a job counselor at your local community college about what you can do to improve your communication skills. If your verbal skills are as poor as your writing skills, you can't expect any restaurant that is hiring front-of-the-house servers to 'call back'. Restaurants want their wait staff to be verbally articulate and able to communicate with a variety of customers from all walks of life. As a server, everything you do and say - and the way you say it - reflects on them.

Excuse me it's Red Lobster, what is so hard about that. Sounds like they already had someone in mind. Could be one of the cooks kids, server kids, ect.. They have to give everyone a chance for an interview in accordance to the law. That doesn't mean they already have someone in mind but they can't act upon it unless they give everyone who applied a chance. I work a waitress all thru my college years and they always hired someone that was recommended by the inside staff. The problem is that the person that interviewed you failed to tell you " If you don't hear from me by Sunday then your not the right fit. That's awful how they make desperate people wait. Don't give up keep trying and be assertive not aggressive to make your point. Simply say, I really need this job and really want it but if I don't get it i will be okay

If I was you I would call because it will never hurt to call and check up on your application

I would call them and ask. What could it hurt??

You should always do a follow up call the one they hire is always the one that calls back

Call and show some initiative. Employers are very busy these days, and may not have filled it yet. So if you call, you could possibly get a second interview. If you didn't get the job, there is no harm. And, there could be other positions available for which you are qualified.

Call her
Always have a follow up call. I learned that years ago. Don't automatically assume.
