Where have all the drivers gone in Dallas TX?

Gosh... I used to live in Dallas, I have been recruiting truck drivers for 16 yrs never ever did I have a hard time hiring drivers in the DFW area. I work form home (ohio) for a carrier in Irving TX (small company 35 trucks looking to grow our fleet) I am having a heck of time getting drivers. Pretty Awesome pay package. I believe the issue is running free ads? we are not being seen or we are at the bottom any thoughts ?

If 40-47cpm is a good deal your wrong most companies are going salary or load percentage. Others are offering 50,60,70 cpm as company drivers. As far as Dallas goes. If you don’t live there you can’t understand there is none stop construction morning and evening traffic are dangerous and long. It’s hard to maneuver through that town now and be safe. The tolls are higher in the morning and evening they changed based on how busy the roads is.

CDL drivers are hard to find everywhere in the United States. DOT rules have gotten so strick that a veteran driver cannot make a decent living. I suggest that you start reading trucker magazines to get to the answer to your problems.

Perhaps your package is not as good as you think it is. Also has to do with you equipment you have. Experienced drivers don’t wanna drive crappy tequipment (freightliners) and drive 65 miles an hour in a 75 mph zone
