At the time I was already a skilled musician and traveled around the world doing Polynesian shows. I was also employed at the Polynesian Cultural Center. My wife was actually working at Germaine's as a flower vendor selling flower leis and headbands. My friends who already working at Germaine's recognized me and asked if I was working at any other venue. I replied "no" and quickly went to get the stage manager. Her name was Stepanie Lindsey and asked if I wanted to work for Germaine's Luau. I said "yes" and she hired me on the spot.
