Experience is one factor in hiring. There are other factors too. Depending on the position, relevant factors may include attitude, reliability, availability, and/or skills. And yes, some companies seem to send out automatic rejection letters. Sometimes they already have someone in mind, but are required to advertise. Sometimes you are highly qualified, but someone else is even more highly qualified. And sometimes the screeners are not doing a very good job.
