I got let go from uber.

I worked for uber for seven months and then they let me go because of a felony that I got in 2011.Is that legal?

Hi Ezra, Sorry to hear of your challenges.

Did you disclose the felony in your background? Or were you even asked to disclose it? I suspect a this happens quite a bit based on the application process.

Also, do you know for certain that the felony is why you were fired? The nature of the crime often plays a part. If the felony conviction was of a nature that could affect interactions with people or driving safely in vehicles, then that could be part of their thinking.

I am no legal expert on such matters, but I think you should contact the California state fair employment agency. They could tell you federal and state regulations on such matters.

Best of luck to you, Matthew
