Hiring Process at Chipotle
Earlier today, i had an interview at Chipotle between 2-4 p.m. but i came at 12:00 noon so they told me to come back at 2. I came back at 2 and another guy happened to be there for an interview too so we started around 2:10. The GM introduced herself to us and told us about herself and the restaurant vice versa. She asked us about our availabilities and we told her our availabilities and then she said she'll call us this evening which im currently waiting. The interview really wasn't how i expected it to be. The GM's very laid back and everything; should i call Chipotle to check the status of my application, or wait? How long does the process usually takes?

In my experience it's always best to call in about 24 to 48hrs after speaking with the GM. Those type of resturants normally hire quickly to get things running smoothly again.

If she said she'd call "this evening" you'd be well justified to call "tonorrow" if you don't get that call "this evening". Showing up at noon for a 2:00pm interview could be seen as unfavorable. Maybe you aren't good at following directions? Maybe you have poor sense of time management? Maybe you are too desperate and trying too hard to make a good impression? A few minutes early is much better than a few minutes late, but a few hours early is not good. Did you just sit there and waste 2 hours while waiting? Did you eat lunch while waiting? Did you have a way to communicate so you could actively search for other job leads while you were waiting? Regardless, two hours is over the limit unless you had extreme circumstances and even then it would have been better to waste at least an hour and a half somewhere else and show up only a little bit early.. Punctuality is very important but too early can be nearly as bad as too late, (depending on the amount of time). People, (especially managers), have schedules and they have time allotted for certain tasks. If you show up early they will feel pressured or rushed to accommodate unexpected changes and that will not set a good atmosphere. If you show up late you'll be wasting their time which is even worse but being as close to "on time" is always the better choice.

Chill don't stop applying for other job it take me6 month to get a job then i got 3 don't give up hope they don't call back somebody will trust

Sure call

If she did not give you a time for when she will call back. Then yes I would call ,or stop by there. Maybe even bring a resume next time you follow up with them. Even though it is entry level. That do not mean to approach the situation with any less professionalism. It is easy to say no over the phone, that person is not here.If you show up ready to win that is not desprate. No matter how they feel. That is a person seeking success.

Yes please call and check the status of your application.

Jonathan it was good to see your enthusiasm. In the future when an interview reads 2-4 that is the time they want you there. But as far as the rest of the interview it lacked a little, but the person who said they would call you that evening should have. The answer to your question ,yes it does take time if they do a background check and drug screen. If you want this job be patient, if not keep applying.

Usually a corporations like them some times takes a little bit longer, because of fully processing, I suggest give it s couple more days or week, good luck

Give them a quick call back,to show u r interested, good luck
Good afternoon Jonathan I was sitting down to have lunch when I noticed this post from jobcase.com it doesn't appear from your description of the GM who's laid back that she will be prompt In responding what a vague answer to give to 2 potential employees (I'll call you tonight) did she give a specific time? To share some insight as to how long the process may take usually depends on the peak hours of the restaurant and the demand for a new employee or employees needed to cover the workload was the restaurant busy during your interview ? If so maybe a possible explanation on why she seemed vague and her reason for calling you back tonight with no specific time if the restaurant was not busy she may have just been following protocol in regards to what you should do if we're too eager or show desperation it tends to scare off potential employers by the same token if we're too nonchalant and slow to the draw we get overlooked my experience with the restaurant as well as the hotel industry who knows what to expect I will suggest you wait an ample amount of time and then inquire about your interview earlier in the day but I wouldn't do it by phone I would return to the restaurant if at all possible because more often than not someone other than the GM will answer the phone and for what ever reason will give you the runaround please don't be discouraged and by all means keep looking for work good luck to you my friend and most importantly thanks for being you today
