Getting more questionable
For those of you who follow me, you know that the place I work can be a bit challenging. I work for a 3rd party call center for a cable company. Recently things got a bit more challenging when it payday arrived last Friday and come to find out that No One from all three sites got paid. From management all the way down to the representatives. Now although I would still be annoyed, if they would have just gotten us together and explained and even said that honestly, they didn't understand what happened, I would get over it and move on with my day. However, throughout the day all we heard was gossip and when someone finally did come out of their office they just informed a group of people but nothing of what they were saying was making any sense. And then they were throwing people under the proverbial bus. I get direct deposit so therefore I don't expect to get my paycheck until Monday or Tuesday. Things happen. People make mistakes. But let us be honest about it. Right now I am just praying that this isn't just the beginning of something more serious.
I personally check the corporation commission to see if they are in good standing with them a couple times a year. Amazing how many companies go in default and don't pay their taxes,bills . Free to check. Just saying
Robin this is a major red flag because if it was a simple accounting error immediately cut your checks that day nevermind that if you paid me was a secondary and you have to wait till the next week that's a seven-day violation that's a federal payroll all by the way which apparently they seem not to care about in the way they're trying to keep it under wraps seems to me there's a larger systemic problem get out and get out now before your left holding the bag for hours that you worked and bills that you owe have no money to pay it

Hi Robin Wait mistakes do happen. Is this common? If it becomes more so I would contact your local department of labor and file a complaint. I totally understand that when you count on your paycheck you fully expect it to come on time!
I wouldn't worry about it, gossip is for people that don't have anything better to do, hang out with the guys, they don't gossip, they keep it real. In the meantime explore other options and keep your cool
