Since I'm 17 with no working experience and still a senior in high school. Will that make it hard for me to find a job?

Hi DeJa: Thanks for posting to Jobcase! It shouldn't be too hard, especially if you direct your attention to employers with a long history of hiring teens. Check out fast food locations, retail stores for teens, restaurants, and movie theaters. Do Jobcasers have any other suggestions?

Yes it will be hard for you to find a job but if you join clubs and run for offices and if you become president of the club you can put that on a resume and it can help you find a job. It goes along ways in telling a potential employer about who you are as a person and will help you get a job in the log run

No it wont make it hard...you just have to have an idea of what you want to do...I have people in my company who started at 18...

Try tp get in as a pharmacist assistant.

Nope no problems with starting out.
Just remember to breath and just relax. While you sit there in an interview ready to answer their questions just keep in mind your physical demeanor having self-control and at the same time showing them with your face that your excited about being there. Next, it's ok to stop and think for a few seconds before answering each question to give them the best answer. Finally, try to answer most of their questions, not all, but most questions in a way which helps to further the company and not yourself (selflessly N smart).
Good Luck!

Good morning Deja all the post are correct, not sure what state you live in but Starbucks was a Ist job for my son, he had no experience and they hired him straight out of high school , it a good starter company for young adults they offer college incentives and benefits.
Alot of companies already know that high students dont have alot experience, so they ask questions geared towards future plan. When you do research on the company your seeking try website Glassdoor. .. it will give you history of companies, salary and also the most common questions asked during interview. My son used that wedsite and it prepared him for interview questions, Good luck and stay positive you can do it.

Get references from family friends etc stating that you have worked with them for sometime stating whatever kind of work you'll looking for. Good luck!

Hello DeJa, all the feedback is trus, also, make sure to research the company you are interested in, write down critical questions you would like answers to. Don't be afraid to ask what a company can offer you as a new employee. Most jobs hire for great people skills and not work skills.

Hello Miss Peterson Start thinking about where you'd like to go to school. Also, think about what you might be interested in taking, or some college prep classes. Education is the most important thing at you r age.
You can use skills you have learned in school such as clubs you may be in, any leadership roles in school, even languages your learning. Babysitting jobs, anything you can think of that could help you land the job. Typing classes, computer classes, this will depend on what you plan on applying for. Hope this helped. When we looked for people in an office environment age did not matter, it's what you can bring to the company. Sell yourself, be positive, and you'll do well.
