advice/help
I'm 16 years old, and I've been living on my own for eight months. I've put in countless job applications here, in Savannah, and I've even went as far as applying for jobs out of Savannah. The few callbacks and interviews that I have had have fallen through due to so many applicants coming in and the number of interviews that are being given. I have yet to find anything remotely promising other than the baby sitting gigs that I've gotten over the past few months and I'm honestly just ready to find a stable job. Any advice/help would be very much appreciated.

Leverage the babysitting gigs into work experience. Think about signing up for Task Rabbit, which is an app that lets you get paid for small tasks. Don't overlook the 'etc. jobs' and 'gigs' section of Craigslist either.
And going to a food pantry isn't a bad idea either.

Have you tried registering with local staffing and/or temporary employment services such as Manpower, Select, Kimco. Randstad etc?
Sometimes they can get you working the day of your initial contact.

Go into JobCorps. Its a place young adults can go.. Stay there.. Recive an education,Licence and many other things that will prepare someone for a bright future. You live there.. So You won't have to worry about paying rent...while you receive an education.

Come to California its plenty jobs here Bay Area starts at $15hr for Mc Donalds youll find a job that pays about $17-19hr easily

Let me say that at your age the best that you can hope for is a job with a fast food restaurant or small retail. Employers are weary of extremely young applicants just as they are extremely older applicants. One of the first things they want to see is that you are educated to a degree. I understand your plight but if nothing else, and as much as I dislike them, you may need to turn to social services for assistance. I do applaud you for your maturity in wanting to take care of your siblings. If I could help please let me know. Be blessed.

Have you spoken with Family Services? Contact churches and other organizations as well. It is a frightening world we now live in, not aafe for you - please be careful especially of strangers offering to "help" - human trafficing has become a huge problem. Also contact some of the religious TV personalities, Dr Phil, etc. Make someone listen and God bless you.

Time to go back an finish you Ed The world out is no place for you there's too much danger out there
Hi Celina.. I certainly understand your efforts and it's a lot of responsibility for you being so young. I'm going to assume that you have working papers? Have you tried the local umemployment office? Also you might want to have someone to review your resume & to give you some tips that will assist you with standing out. Hope this helps. Good luck!
