Fired for unfair reasons?

I’m a nurse, and I was recently fired from a hospital as a result of giving patient the wrong medication. Fortunately, nothing happened, but I was so tired and overworked that a mistake was bound to happen. How do I explain this to other employers so I don’t get blacklisted?

I can't tell if your firing was unfair or not because I don't know the rest of the story. Nonetheless, it is unfortunate. The best you can do is tell a prospective employer that yo made a mistake that fortunately wasn't fatal and learned from it. I would not say that you were overworked and that a mistake was bound to happen and appear to be shifting the accountability to the hospital. Good luck!
