Lost at 40

I was blindsidedly terminated at 315 am on a Monday Morning after giving my heart and soul to a company. It hurt. I took 8 months off due to mental and physical stress. I made sure to return the favor by launching a class action lawsuit on the employer.

I went back to work in 2019 for 8 months only to get fucked again after giving my all. After a month ofsearching for a new job I found a new job but had to resign after 2 weeks. I am a CDL driver with 9 years prior military and transportation experience amd a myriad of supervisory, life, travel, administrative, and other experiences as well. Im not sure "driving" is for me anymore.

Does anyone have any advice for a guy whos tired of giving all and getting railroaded as Im ready to throw in the towel permanently on the work enviornment. #fedupwithterribleemployers #tryingdesperatelytowinthelottery #enoughisenough

If your not against working as a sole proprietor for a 3PL then you could earn money that way. Choose your days, trips, and how often you haul loads. If you don’t want to be a driver then try being the middle man. You know customers and drivers so have them pay you for the connections (3PL). Good luck!!

You could always do what I did at age 48 after a quarter-century of working in the private sector, giving my all, and enduring layoff after layoff.

Apply with the United States Postal Service. You could apply to be a clerk (PSE), a city carrier (CCA), or rural carrier (RCA), or see what other jobs are available; they also hire CDL drivers. I started out as an RCA, and after 3.5 years, I finally have my own route. I have to drive my own vehicle, but I get paid mileage for it.

Best of luck to you and, whatever comes your way, don't give up.

It can be difficult. We are loyal employees yet the employers we work for aren't loyal to us. My mother worked for a company for 40 yrs. Loyal to the core, hard working, always taking on extra hours when they needed someone, never saying NO and then they fired her no good reason. Companies now look to hiring the millennials with no experience experience than those with experience and company loyalty qualities. All I can do is tell you to take what you can find and continue to search for what you want while working because something is better than nothing. When the position you want does come along make sure you have the position before leaving the other job. Prayers to you

Hi Anony, my friend,

Find a job that you like well enough with people who you like well enough and do not depend on any job for your basic sense of self or for your basic self esteem . .

I agree with one of the other people who responded to you that It's "all about the numbers", i.e. and that has been my experience even in the work worlds of counseling, ministry, mental health, and education where I have labored . .

Don't give your heart and soul to "The Man" or to "The Woman" but to God, my friend, and try to help somebody who needs your help just as you try to help yourself as "the least of these," amigo . .

I am sendin' you my best peace and love, brother, and my best vibes . .

Sam Spencer

Like Linkin Park said;it doesn't matter how hard you try,in the end,it doesn't even matter...the system See's everything in black and white, they just care about the numbers...if the numbers don't add up,it's someone's head they going after.!! Theirs plenty of work out there, just find the one you like the most and don't work too hard.!!
