Fired for complaining about coworkers....
I was temping and landed a great job, but there were two other temps who were harassing me and after 6 weeks I had enough. I filed a complaint with my temp agency who later told me I was very unprofessional. HUH? I also told my Team Lead what was going on. That same day that I filed with my temp agency is the same day they fired me. I was told it was "just a coincidence" but they would "still like to work with me." This makes no sense. My Team Lead was always telling me what I great job I was doing and she also told me that the two others had a lot more mistakes than I did. They really liked me. I slipped into a depression and my anxiety was thru the roof. The temp agency told me that the Company I was temping for decided to let me go 'cuz I had left some forms lying on my desk and we aren't supposed to do that. It just doesn't make any sense. So now I'm looking for another job and I'm just so angry over how everything went about. Does anyone have any advice?

Wow I had something similar happen to me as well. Which I'm very upset about. After being praised for my work and the need to keep me there, I was stabbed in the back. Doesn't matter how hard you work, or the countless hours you put in to get the job done. When it's all said and done your lucky if you get a pat on the back. I was let go for a comment I made concerning my lead. He took it personal and the next day I was escorted out. I wanted to get revenge, but my friends talked me out of he. He is very lucky! These things happen and we have to just move on. Don't worry Tom , god has a bigger and better plan waiting for you.

Thomas, Sorry to hear about losing your job. How did you make the complaint, in writing or phone call? Who did you make you complaint too? Is there an Open Door Policy with the temp agency? Although many employers encourage employees to speak up it's really not look at as a positive thing. Chain of command... complaints like these means the folks leading you day to day aren't doing their jobs. Hope you find something better soon.

The job market is a dangerous place to work but my advise is to keep being professional. With that being said do not allow any body to marginalize who you are sometimes it takes a person to do multiple jobs before he or she finds their fit. We all have to keep fighting

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm still upset about how I was let go for complaint big about how I was being treated...co-workers touching me, telling me my clothes were ugly and where do I shop. I had even bought one worker a coffee mug 'cuz she said she liked mine and then I was accused of stealing it!! I have to say all this put me in a huge depression, but yesterday my bff dragged me to the gym and I am feeling much btr. Isn't it strange that the same day I complained, I got home only to find out I was fired. I'm moving on. Thanks for the kind words.

I was told I was doing a good job and after one month I was trained...then a week later, I was told that I didnt have the skills to do the job I was doing and they wanted copy of my resume, which HR had in their files that I gave to them when I applied for the job. A week later, I was laid off being told I was a great fit but the work they were assigning me to got pushed back an the job wouldnt happen for another year...Its just a game you cant win. They were trying to get me to quit, but I didnt give in and they couldnt fire me...

First let me say that I'm very sorry this has happened to you. As an active job seeker myself, I've encountered unbelievable behavior from both co-workers and management, as you'll never know what kind of workplace culture you're walking into. You may not understand this right now, but your experience may have opened up opportunities like you've never imagined. Keep your head up and the right job will come when you least expect it; I know, because my experiences are very similar to yours.

Hang in there don't get discouraged I got fired because I wasn't working fast enough I was angry and madBut I did find another good jobYou'll find another good jobJust hang in there janine/plymouth mi
Hi Tom,
I NORMALLY do not deal with temp agencies, as they an be QUITE unprofessional themselves; a select few of course. I have always bee the type person that ONLY believes what comes out of THAT PERSON'S mouth. Here say is unprofessional in itself, so that was a definite NO. I agree with you, as NONE of this makes sense at all to me. If a company likes you they will do EVERYTHING in their power to keep you. There WILL be something better to come around SOON. PLEASE don't let this get to you; take it professionally, not personally. This is a stepping stone, and just consider it PRACTICE for you. I would suggest that you trust no one, no matter what they say. I say this myself because there's something AMAZING about Tom Carpenter that is desired in that office, in the temp agency, in the world!!!!!YOU WILL GET IT DONE...I hope that this helps you Tom.. Take care and keep moving forward, Saint
