Hi Jessica, Needing experience to get the chance of gaining experience is a classic problem when starting a new career. Your instincts sound very good: education + willingness to even volunteer if need be suggests you will eventually be successful here - just add in persistence (i.e. Don't give up!).

Couple thoughts;

1. did you approach the Logan College for help? They should be willing and vested in helping you!
2. how many positions have you applied for yet? I see Quest diagnostics and Adventist Health systems listing jobs here at Jobcase (jobs section) among others. Remember getting a job is a numbers game, you need to get lots of apps out there, follow up each one with a phone call confirming they have it and politely asking them for a meeting to discus your candidacy. Enough of these and you should start to get traction
3. If the college itself didn't help - try reaching out to any fellow students or professors you had. Especially if you are willing to volunteer, one would think a professor could help.
4. and the toughest of all - make sure you don't let yourself get too down about how long it can take. It can be really hard and frustrating both getting a job and switching careers. But, you have every reason to be optimistic. Your actions speak very positively about the kind of value you could bring an employer. I know you will find someone who recognizes that - just keep at it!
