Overtime

I get paid bi-weekly. So full time it up to 80 hours. Are there a certain amount of overtime hours that it's considered illegal to work? Such as I had 80 full time hours and 51hours overtime.

Depending upon the state more than 40 in one week is overtime. The bi-weekly pYschedule does not matter. An employer cannot schedule you 60 in one week and 20 the next.

Work as long as you are told, as far as overtime is concern, there is no such thing as illegal to work after you rich your 80 hours, keep on working especially if you are reliable to your company, not to worry you will get paid for all those hours you worked for. Work away

You can work so many hours as it needs be, there is no such thing as illegal work hours, work away as long as your company needs you to work until there is no more work to be done. Keep track on your overtime hours

It's only illegal if they're not compensating you properly for it.

Ashley from the information your providing you wok about 65 hours a week. To days world that amount of hours is routeen for most working Americans . so no it is not illegal. I have been a union represenative for over 40 years. The company you work for is not beaking any labor laws. I suggest you look for employment elsewhere. There is no labor law about that little bit of overtime they are making you work.

Never look a gifted horse in the mouth. Take the overtime but the taxes are horrendous.
