What Do You Look For In Entry-Level HR Candidates?

Hello HR Professionals,

I've recently taken a management position at a restaurant startup, but I feel that career planning is essential to having healthy professional development and thus I am looking towards the future and where I want to be in the next few years.

I'm very interested in transitioning into a full-time HR role and I'm actually planning on getting my Bachelor's from Western Governor's University in HR Management.

I'm also studying for my aPHR exam and doing my best to generate some somewhat related experience with freelance career counseling and resume help, but I want to hear from those of you in the field what would make a candidate stand out and if you feel I'm on the right track to being called in for an interview (when the time comes) or if you feel there are some things I am overlooking.

Thanks for reading,

Gage Cherry

Hi Gage Cherry ! My husband's cousin has been in HR management for quite a few years now and loves her job! I think that to stand out in HR you certainly need to be personable and have great social skills which I definitely know you possess from your presence here in the community. Here are some [tips] (https://www.themuse.com/advice/stand-out-against-tough-job-search-competition) from an article I found as well that may help! Good luck Gage!
