The Sysco Iowa, located at One Sysco Place, Ankeny, IA, 50021 is currently hiring Maintenance Technician.

Responsibilities include: POSITION SUMMARY: Repairs and maintains all physical structures and equipment on company premises. • HOURS: Monday –Friday 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Uses necessary equipment to repair structural and functional components of malfunctioning equipment. • Replaces and adjusts defective or worn parts to repair systems. • Safely operates hand tools, power tools and machinery. • Install wiring to connect components to electric power source. • Maintains records and documents as required. • Understand basic plumbing, basic electric, air conditioning and refrigeration. • Able to operate Maintenance Program (computer). • Follow Preventative Maintenance procedures as set by Facility Management.

QUALIFICATIONS: Basic Qualifications: • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, send correspondence, and memos. • Ability to write simple correspondence. • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software. • Excellent organizational and follow through skills • Excellent time management skills • Excellent attention to detail • Strong written and oral communication • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel • Ability to multi task in an efficient and expedient manner

Education and / or Experience: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). • Two years facility maintenance experience preferred. • Four years successful warehouse experience can be substituted.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
