I can tell you from what I have seen -most Insurance companies want someone with a large amount of sales experience. They may require you to get your license to work for them, or they may pay for you to get it - depending on the company. I will say from what I have been told, the licensing exam is tough and a lot of people who try for it, don't pass - even with multiple attempts. Be sure and look the description over for the job very carefully. A lot of the jobs are commission only - meaning you don't get paid unless you make a sale - and you have to make a lot of them to make a decent living. And yes. some agencies require you to have a license even if you're doing administrative assistant work, and they prefer someone with experience in insurance for that type of work. It's a catch-22 for some places. They want you to have experience, but they won't hire you to get the experience.
