I am on retirement May will make a year i have been trying to find s parttime position on and off but can seem to attract or see any positions that i desire and sometimes being not a part of the work force anymore can seem useless and u not needed or u just dont exist.
I know a women at my church who I volunteer with in the kids ministry and she's intensified her talk this year about retiring before the end of the year..... I'll be sure to tell her to hold her horses on that and have something lined up at least before she commits wholeheartedly to retirement and make sure it's something she'll actually love doing for pay...
I understand volunteering left me to a great part time position and gave me great amount of self worth. U r needed. I'd is now your job to find where and for who. God bless
Yes it's rough our here. I was just laid and told I was Iver qualified for the position. I've been trying to find both PT and FT for about 2months with no positive outcomes. Still good luck with your endeavors
Create your own part time job. Think out side the box and stop waiting for jobs to call. Do something you really like to do then post it or print flyers of all the things you can do, like organize closets, paint rooms, run errand for seniors, house sit, dog sit/walk/bath etc...
What about doing some volunteer work in an area you enjoy?
I understand where you're coming from. I'm trying to find the job that I desire but everyone is trying to shove me in a corner. Keep on trying and DON'T get discouraged. I know you still have some close minded people out there, but they are using OLD stereotypes. We are still VITAL to society. Good luck with your search!

You should try going through a temp agency.
Hang in there im retired 2yrs and a lot of employers do not respect experience
