Truck Stop ettiquite

I am a manager of a medium size truck stop with 300 parking spaces. I have a problem (constant) with drivers who pull onto the fuel island and do their 30 minute break without fueling. We have 9 fuel bays and I find myself constantly having to go out to move trucks off the fuel bays. It is amazing to me how many drivers wish to argue and fight with me rather than be a professional driver and park in our parking lot. We are never full so parking is not a problem, we don't charge for parking and we are a full service truck stop. Any suggestions o how to stop this problem? If someone is doing their 30, then I can't sell fuel to the person waiting to get on that island.

If they are true professionals they would not do this! Assholes! We used to look out for each other and have professional courtesy! But to answer your question i agree..signs that say if you are caught doing it you will be towed at your expense!

Invest in the big digital counters that they have in California that tells you how many minutes you been on the fuel Island and then have someone go out and remove them from the fuel island that's the only option

These are the same lazy asses that throw there garbage out there door instead of walking to the back of the truck and tossing it in a trash can. It's why we're losing all of our parking!!

Take pictures call their companies and have the trucks impounded. Get the signs posted no brakes on the fuel islands violators will be towed. Contact your local towing company that is capable of towing big trucks and let them know they're going to start getting business

Honestly I would post signs that say anyone caught traking a 30 min break on the fuel island will be towed at their own expense. Trust me us other drivers cannot stand other drivers that do that. Very unprofessional and usually big companies that have these people doing it. But as a general rule myself if the parking is available I will park there for a 30 if I need a scale ticket I will scale then park ahead of the fuel island or somewhere out of the way.
