63 and laid off from the banking world 12 months ago and replaced by 2 each making half my salary. I have made it become an opportunity - it is a choice. But you have to be willing to suck it up, be creative and work your face off. Helping a friend clean commercial buildings, creating flyers for her with MS Publisher and meeting with potential clients to support her as she needs it. Working to help grow what could easily be a $20K/month biz for her. I'm a RE consultant and have several clients I'm doing property research and marketing work for land projects. Just obtained my RE broker license and am working with a designated broker to sell commercial properties and land. Also, I set up a meeting with a contractor to market my services as a project manager and I'm meeting with him this week. Additionally, working on selling product on Amazon. Have a FB account that is just the right fit for promoting wealth incubation actions people can take so gathering email lists and will make $ when my affiliate links pick up. That's a work in progress. Diversification is the key as employment in JOBS is uncertain these days (at least for me it has been) and you MUST keep up with the latest technology and social media. I'm a glass full guy and know with my ongoing efforts and positive attitude, I'll be able to help others with unlimited payback potential. Come on people, choose to embrace these exciting and challenging times! Re-train, rebuild, sell assets, cut off cable, stop TV binging, work out and power nap. It can be done.

I the glass half full mentality inherent or learned? You’ve managed to tap into your skills and explore opportunities but I think the options are much more limited for someone with limited education, skills, and work experience. Money is always a factor for me so I always feel forced to take on dead end jobs for the paycheck. Any advice or inspiration for someone in my predicament in life. Thank you.

Liked your response. I've only worked at fast food and as a 63 yr old female with some health problems, I don't know what to do, where to go, and computer skills are weak, although I would like to learn more of the creative stuff like publishing. Thanks for your comments and advice.
