I work in the pharmacy at CVS and sometimes I feel so bad when I ring out people and their insurance doesn't cover everything. I do my best to see if there is anything I can do to help. Some of them get crazy expensive! Why do prescriptions cost so much???
I don't know why prescriptions cost so much, all I know is that it is ridiculous. It's not far to the working people who need them and can't afford them. All they care about is the rich people.
Kudos to you for having some compassion,most people wouldn't care at all.CVS has the right person working the register! Someone who truly cares,and I would hope you pursue the answer to your question to see if someone can join you in making a change. Now THATS a loyal employee,loyal to the consumer!

Wait, I thought the Affordable Care Act solved that problem! Two points, though. Pharmaceutical companies can spend billions developing new drugs. Drugs are overprescribed because people want a quick fix. I was unemployed for over 6 months. When I lost my job I had prescriptions for 8 drugs, 4 of which I actually used. When the supply I had ran out, I quit them. I am fine. Two I really want to restart since I know the consequences are long term. The others? A result of an almost OCD tendency of modern medicine that something HAS to be done coupled with resistance to alternative techniques plus the fact that the stress of my former job created health issues.
the mark - up on prescription drugs is the highest. because of all the research and testing to get them to that point,
tell them about Goodrx website...they can type in their area and the prescription and it will show them what stores are the least expensive!!!
The drug companies put profit before ANYTHING ELSE AND DO NOT CARE IF SOMEONE CAN'T AFFORD THE DRUGS THEY NEED.
That is my top concern about working at a pharmacy.
