So wrong
I was offered a job it took them two weeks to even let me know that they haven't got my background check and then after that they tell me that they got my background check it's been almost 10 years since I've been in trouble they need to give people a chance

R u talking about peak and associates? If so don't even waste your breath. Those people are coming artists. Somehow they got one good review, that's it. But you need to read the others. They should be in jail.

Depending on the criminal offense and company policy...can make a difference in hiring you...example if you have a felony for theft and a company is hiring for a cashier they may not be willing to take the chance in a persons rehabilitation and the company may choose to pursue other candidate, though it may not always be fair a company usually looks for candidates that fit the company

This is definitely a challenging situation, and I agree that everyone deserves a first or second chance! Here are a few articles I found on how to approach this with potential employers: https://goodprospects.goodwill.org/build-skills/address-criminal-record-explaining-your-new-values http://www.ncdsv.org/images/KnowYourRights--AnsweringQuestionsfromEmployersAboutRecordsArrests.pdf http://www.cacp.uscourts.gov/sites/default/files/assets/pdfs/WorkforceDevelopment/Explainingyourconviction.pdf

Sorry that happened to you Wal-Mart in law Vegas did the same to my son he was so excited about being hired on the spot even bought his uniform. Now he is stuck with the uniform and no job.

Yes i agree it isn't fair how they treated you just by what happened years ago and what they dont realize is that they have been in our shoes once but they have gotten so comfortable that they judge you before they really know that you can do the job but the ones who do interview us can be a member of our conversation in a heartbeat cause a job is a job and it cares for no one

Unfortunately, most companies are looking for squeaky-clean applicants to hire. It's part of their way of protecting the company from future problems or lawsuits. If you are applying for a job that some relevance to your past incident with the law, you may want to review your job choices and possibly find a different career path. When applying for companies requiring background checks, you may want to let them know about the incident 10 years ago with an explanation. They will find it out in the processing of your application. There are companies out there that will hire you. You just have to keep applying. Be positive, and focused. In the meantime, stay out of trouble.

Agreed i have 3 state jail felonies they are thefts i cant get anyone to hire me besides goodwill

I filled out a application for Hertz and every time I forward my resume it kicks it. How am I going to get hired if they keep blocking my application?

I agree! It's just Satan! Believe in Him!! He'll pull you through.
So what happened? You didn't quite explain IF you got the job or not.
