What To Do When The Interview Process Is Dragging On...

Good morning!

I found a great quick article about ones experience of what to do when the interview process keeps dragging on. From the writers experience, it seems as though after months of waiting what eventually helped land her the Job was her great interest in the company and consistency to follow up. Heres a quote from the article:

"But after I eventually landed the job (sorry, spoiler), I learned that leadership considered me one of the best interviewees they had ever come across because it was clear that I not only really wanted the job, but was truly curious about the industry."

Here's the link to the Article if you are interested: https://careercenter.bauer.uh.edu/blog/2017/04/03/what-to-do-when-the-interview-process-is-dragging-on-and-on-and-on/

Buyer at Meyer Plastics

Back in the 70's, 80's, and 90's sales people were taught a technique of assuming the sale. It was for times when the presentation was over, but nobody was saying anything. However, since the 90's I have used the concept many times in my purchasing career, and I have used it on interviews. The concept being, if the interviewer is not telling you don't have the job, assume that you have the job. Ask questions, discuss strategy, discuss value, essentially act like part of the team. By doing so, the interviewer can see you differently, however you must keep it positive. Good Luck...

This is a great article, Connor! There are some good lessons in here about what to do when you seemingly get the cold shoulder from an interviewer and what could be going on on their side of things to delay the hiring process. It definitely offers some perspective on the whole situation. Thanks for sharing!
