Why is it so hard?
I have spent the last 8 years working freelance style doing public relations and marketing work. I want to become a salaried employee but it seems like the only marketing jobs I find are direct selling. I would love to do PR work for a nascar team or in that industry I just don't know where else to look.

I was in your shoes a few years ago and ended up having to take office work due to the recession. It seems I can't shake that off me now and that's all I'm viewed as, despite nearly twenty years of successful PR/Marketing work. There are sports focused job sites and you should look into those, as their jobs rarely post on the typical sites like indeed and monster.
