I started my new job & was there 7 days with 2 days of training. I was told I was being fired because I had typos on letters. I work in insurance & am completely bewildered.

If your job is to respond in writing to customers or potential customers and you are not proof reading and editing errors, then your former employer is justified because you were giving employer a bad image with your carelessness. And if you are baffled then you have no clue you were a bad employee.
