Truck Driver at Andrachick Trucking Inc

I get so nervous!!!

We got hit with some serious snow recently and even though I am trained to handle this as a trucker and I always follow my own rule which is... Do not drive any faster than you can see....I still have that pit in my stomach. How do I feel more confident and not nervous when the road conditions are horrible?

Stay nervous! It's when you get comfortable that you become confident then complacent. You do not want to become complacent in any driving conditions. Your nervousness keeps you aware and alert. When you become frightened it's time to pull over and wait it out.

The only distance you can control is the distance in front of you. So go the speed your comfortable in your truck. No one knows your truck like you do.

Good advise. I always slow down in in climate weather and if it is really bad. Pull off and let the weather clear.

You can't. Best to use your own common sense.if you don't feel safe don't do it.please don't be a hero,or super trucker

If it really upset you that bad when you're in bad winter driving weather, then you really need to find a rest area or truck stop to stop in and shut it down. You don't need to be driving when your mind's not fully on the truck and your surroundings because you're freaking out over the snow. Just a safety thing. Dispatch cannot make you drive if you feel that road conditions prohibit you to drive
