Unemployment 13 week extension
My unemployment will be up soon and I am wondering if anyone knows if I have to start a new claim to get an extension on benefits or will it be an automatic adjustment? I keep getting different information and the phone lines are hard to get through. The cares act discusses the additional 13 weeks but I am not sure. Thank you.
Go onto your unemployment account and claim weeks as you normally would do. They system will tell you exactly what to do. It will let you know if you need a new application or how to file for an extention, or if they do it automatically. You will receive 13 additional weeks because it is already set up for you to receive it.

Forget about calling them. I've called so many times now and they are not calling back. Been waiting 2 months now and still haven't had an approval.
Its called pedu I believe,its a form of extension due too the pandemic.
I’ve been trying to call and file mine for two weeks online and all I get are errors. They put you on hold and they never come back to the phone here in Mississippi.
I called on the 14 of July still haven’t received call back. You have to go into a phone que.
If you qualify they will notify you and automatically extend you dont have to do anything
For my original ui claim last week I got a final payment, but it was way less than my normal weekly amount. ( this is because after 26 weeks of payments there was a remaining portion of my total available $$) in any case once all those funds were exhausted i logged in sunday to file my weekly claim an the message said I had an additional 13 weeks of extended benefits at my normal benefit payment amt. In the week just prior I called the unemployment number that is used to file new claims. As I was just as concerned as you are. And they explained that this extension should be automatic after all benefit payments on original UI claim is exhausted ...so keep filing weekly claims!
