Packer at Amazon
Hey my name is Archie Peterson. I work for Amazon as a packer at the Amazon in Chattanooga TN. I am going on my 5th week working there. It's alot of hard work working there but the money is worth it but the only thing is I work 3rd shift for them and it takes getting used to like sleeping during the day instead of sleeping during the day. I was wondering if I could get some advice on how to adsect from sleeping the night to sleeping during the day. Any thoughts???

I don't work at Amazon, but I do have trouble sleeping. What helps me is reading before bed. It makes me feel tired. I read for like 15 minutes or so and I am ready to drift off. What helped you sleep before you started working at Amazon?

Hey Archie! I don't work in the warehouse, but when my job stresses me out and I can't sleep I make sure my room is totally dark and listen to some meditative music before I go to bed. If you feel like you can't sleep get out of bed and go read or do something that will quiet your thoughts. Try to go to go bed at the same time each night. That is super important to re-set your cycle. It will be hard at first, but you will eventually make the switch don't worry!

Hey Archie welcome to the group. I work as a picker. How do you like packing so far? Yeah working those weird hours can be BRUTAL. To help adjust to them I know a lot of people here take OTC sleep meds just to help them during those first few times. I am usually dead tired after my shift so sleep is not an issue for me. I know my girlfriend drinks this tea uhhhh I think it's chamomile and it helps her relax. Anything you can do to get yourself tired will be good.
This might help ya out. As a trucker, I deal with a lot of crazy sleep schedules so it's not always easy, but for you, if you're consistent you should be ok. https://www.amerisleep.com/blog/reset-sleep-clock/
