It's near impossible once you hit 50 to re enter the workforce
I 'retired' from a long and successful career in commercial casualty claims after caring for my husband for nine months while he was dying from cancer. I wasn't able to return to my former position due to my mindset at the time, and the obligations of the position. It's been two years and I'm attempting to re-enter the workforce in some type of casualty claims role, but not seeing much promise. Looking for suggestions as I'm weighing my career path options. I've been in claims and/or legal since 1989

I think you just really have to make it obvious that you are flexible with who you work with and your salary. Most places would rather hire younger people for less money than the older, more experienced person who will want more money. If you are flexible with that, you might have a better chance.
