I am sorry but SCREW that company. They don't deserve you or anyone they treat like that. They should be excited to hire someone who is really qualified. It means they will know what they are doing.

I used to think the same way until someone explained things. Basically when they don't hire you because you are over qualified, they are not willing to pay you for your worth. They know that you are worth more than what the position pays.

I'm retired, BUT I have been applying to VERIFIED Companies who are seeking people to work at Home. I have over 40 YEAR experience at my field, and I'm not even being given a chance. In my field, I've probably forgotten more than most have learned. I't not fair that GOOD People are being shunned

I get that a lot too. I think they are scared you will quit. Very frustrating!

You have to look at it from an Employers view. If you have been an office manager for 2 years, and cant find work in your field, and fill out a job for Environmental Services, they know you will be miserable, and not be really dedicated to cleaning all those corners because this is just below you...in real terms. and the first office manager job that pops up in your email, you will go for it. YOu aren't going to turn it down because you would rather clean toilets, (Yes, Karens, cleaning toilets is an EXTREMELY important job), but not if you have a MBA. Just an example.

Hi Tricia- First, congratulations on all of the quals that you do have. You earned them and have a good story to tell. Now, for 'that company', or any company, do your best to suss out what they are looking for and how much they want to pay. My guess is they think too senior, too experienced will always be looking to leave- it may not be the actual case, but, that is usually their view. So, once you have figured out as best. you can as to what/whom they are looking for, pitch your best story in your cover as to why that is you. Use your quals to your advantage. For example, if they are looking for less quals, what have you learned in and amongst all your quals that makes you the choice they can't really do without? Pitch that concept. Try to get the interview. Best of luck and know that your job is out there and you will find it. jtw
